Good to know

This historic home was built in the early 1800s for one of the founders of the B&M Factory (the M stands for Morrill). Up until 2021, the B&M factory had been exclusively making B&M beans and their infamous smoke stack was a staple in the Portland Skyline. What started as a single family home, the Morrill Mansion saw many other uses before morphing into a bed and breakfast in the 1990s, and recently dropped the breakfast to serve Airbnb guests near and far. Architectural details that make the home unique have been restored and modern amenities have been added to make your stay in Portland comfortable. With just eight guest rooms, our inn offers a peaceful stay satisfying social guests or those seeking solace. Each private room, with private ensuite bath, is furnished with a queen sized bed, television (no cable- we have a smart TV that you're welcome to use to log in to your own streaming services), white noise machine, a reading chair (or couch depending on the room), and a mini fridge. During the summer months (May through October) each room has a window AC unit and during heating season each room has their own Rinnai heater which allows you to control your own heat. Located on the first floor, the guest rooms share a sitting room and kitchenette which has a coffee/tea station, microwave, toaster, dishes, ice machine, and small eating/prep counter. An exposed/unlocked luggage nook is located at the base of the stairs for guests who need storage before and/or after check out. ***WINTER PARKING: If we should have a snow storm (depending on the size of the storm), the day after the storm, we may be required to remove all cars from the parking area so it can be properly cleaned out. From 9am through 3pm cars must be moved. Closest street parking with no time restrictions is about a half mile away so its a good time to explore the sites downtown or in our neighboring cities! The host will message through the Airbnb website/app the day of snow removal and any car left in the parking area will be charged a $100 fee***

Other Details to Note

Absolutely amazing stay at the Morrill Mansion. Room was large and beautifully decorated, the shared space was just the same. Katrina is a wonderful and responsive host and we had a wonderful time.

This place is an amazing location - so walkable but not right downtown. The room had everything we needed and the water/ice machine downstairs was a perk. Would recommend for anyone wanting to come explore portland .

Stayed at Katrina's boutique hotel while visiting relatives. Encouraged our family to send other friends to Morill Mansion when they need a place to stay! We loved reading about the historic mansion, orignally owned by a founder of B&M Baked Beans! It's obvious that preserving the mansion has been a labor of love. Our room was charming, meticulously clean, and relaxingly roomy. Or ensuite bathroom was tastefully modern and well-appointed. We reserved one of the rooms with off-street parking, which made our stay during a blizzard so much less stressful--many city streets had limited parking due to weather conditions. (Appreciated plowed parking lot and snow-shoveled entrance.) Loved Morrill Mansions's convenient location, within walking distance of fun attractions, such as Victoria Mansion, yet with an easy, direct route to get to the suburbs (where we spent most our time). Super value for the price! Left with warm memories. Eager to return.

Perfect place to stay in Portland. It's in a quiet neighborhood and a quick drive/Uber ride to the downtown area. A ton of good food places within a short distance. The place itself was clean, comfortable and charming

Morrill Mansion was a nice spot for exploring Portland! We only stayed for two nights. The bed was extremely comfortable, it's in a great neighborhood (walkable to many unique shops, cafes, and restaurants !), and Katrina was a responsive host. We tried to contact her twice (once because the TV was struggling to connect to the internet and once after check-out because I left something behind) and she responded IMMEDIATELY both times. We also appreciated the black-out curtains and complimentary coffee & tea downstairs in the kitchenette.

We had an amazing and lovely stay! We were highly impressed by this elegant and gorgeous historic mansion, which was maintained with such attention to detail. Our sunny room was absolutely beautiful, spotlessly clean, and provided complete amenities. The communal kitchenette was nicely equipped for preparing hot drinks and with plates and utensils, allowing us to enjoy our breakfast right in our room, with good coffee, delicious pastries and local Maine farmer's yogurt we got from neighborhood bakeries and markets. We truly made ourselves at home. It is in a wonderful neighborhood, and the location is perfect where we went for fantastic walks to everywhere in the peninsula. Katrina was an excellent communicator and very accommodating of our needs. Thank you and your staff for our very comfortable stay!
